II Iberoamerican Forum of Intellectual Property

The Ibero-American Forum on Intellectual Property (FIPI) is a periodic event promoted by the law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo and which aims at discussing the most recent and most controversial linked to the Intellectual Property Law at the Ibero-American community.

The institutions that support this event we do so with the conviction that this is one of the raw materials contribute to the harmonization of laws of the Ibero-American community, making possible the effective legal protection of creations of intellectuals and artists of Iberoamerica. Ultimately, this is a cultural industry itself, well-articulated support the creators of art and culture.

Under the title "Intellectual Property in the Digital Society", the presidents of the entities organizers and supporters presented the May 21 to the media FIPI II.

The objectives of FIPI II are consolidating the rights of creators of Latin Americans, promotion of effective systems of Intellectual Property and the involvement of various public authorities in defending the creators. There is no doubt that a fundamental requirement for the operation of the information society is the quality of content. Logically, it can not be expected that copyright holders in the Ibero-American community is showing conform to the interactive possibilities of unlimited access to their works and other intellectuals, except that they give reasonable assurance that their moral rights are respected and exploitation..

The FIPI II is sponsored by the Ibero-American Secretariat (SEGIB) and account for organising the event, with the General Society of Authors and Publishers (SGAE), the Association of Newspaper Publishers Spaniards (AEDE), the Union of Ibero-American Colleges Lawyers and groupings (UIBA), Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid (ICAM), the Spanish Centre for Rights Reprographics (CEDRO), Artists Management Company (AISGE), Society for Management of performers (AIE), Entity Management Rights of Audiovisual Producers (EGEDA) and the public enterprise PromoMadrid. The organization is borne by the law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo.

The FIPI II will be held at the Auditorium PromoMadrid (C / Serum Quinones, Vol. 34 Madrid) Madrid on 10 and June 11, 2008 and participate in its meetings important journalists jurists, legislators and academics experts in Intellectual Property countries that make up the Ibero-American community. The topics will be discussed at round tables and various speakers appear on the agenda of FIPI II.
