The Ibero-American Forum of Intellectual
Property (FIPI) is an event celebrated periodically, promoted
by the Law Firm of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, whose purpose
is the discussion of the most recent and controversial aspects
of Intellectual Property Law in the Ibero-American Community.
The I FIPI is hosted by the General
Ibero-American Secretary (SEGIB) and counts, for the organization
of the event, with the General Society of Authors Composers
and Publishers (SGAE), the Association of Spanish Daily
Newspaper Publishers (AEDE), the Ibero-American Union of
Bar and Lawyer Associations (UIBA), the Illustrious Bar
Association of Madrid (ICAM) and the Firm of Cremades &
Calvo-Sotelo. The co-sponsorship is shared by Repsol YPF
and the Caja de Ahorros of Burgos.
The institutions which support this
event do it with the conviction that this is one the basic
means to contribute to the legislative harmony of the Ibero-American
Community, providing for the effective legal protection
of the creations of Ibero-American artists and intellectuals.
In short, the idea is that a well-articulated culture industry
support the creators of art and culture.
The I FIPI will be celebrated
in Madrid on March 8 and 9 of 2007 and in its sessions will
participate important journalists, jurists, legislators
and academic experts of Intellectual Property in the countries
of the Ibero-American Community. The subjects which will
be debated in the round-table and the different speakers
are indicated in the program of the I FIPI.
