Offered in Madrid in collaboration with the Instituto de Estudios Bursátiles.

Directed to engineers, business people and lawyers that wish to deepen their understanding of new technologies and audiovisual communication in a modern digital context.

The object is the specialization of the student in the legal, technical, and economic matters.

More than 300 graduates come from Spain, Guatemala, Germany, the United States of America, Venezuela, Argentina, Chile, Peru, Ecuador, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Italy and Brazil.

Currently 80% of the graduates have more than 5 years of professional experience.

In October 2008 would begin the XII Promotion.

Introduction :

The telecommunications, internet and audiovisual sectors require the continuing reformation in regulatory, technical, and business aspects. Our Master in Telecommunications Law initially created in collaboration with the Instituto Postgrado de la Universidad Ponitifica de Comillas (ICAI-ICADE) was the first of its kind in Spain. Currently, it has its eighth class in the Centro Universitario Villanueva (part of the Univeridad Complutnese de Madrid) coorganized by Telefonica, Consejo General del Notariado and Cremades Calvo-Sotelo. There are close to 300 students that have passed though their halls. This program is unique in that it is organized and taught by three groups of professionals intensely linked to the development of the Society of the Information in Spain: the office of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo, the leading telecom company in Spain, Telefonica and the Consejo General del Notariado.

Program :

The master was born in 1996 – pioneer in this respect – as Master in the Law of Telecommunications. Since then, it has already trained more than 300 hundred graduates from diverse nationalities of Spain, Germany, Italy, Austria, Brazil, Venezuela, Mexico, Argentina, Chile United States, etc. Conscious of the need to complete the program with matters that permit covering a profound knowledge of the telecommunications sector and the legal, technological, economic, and market implications, the Master has been added to so that it is the Master of Business and Telecommunications, Internet, and Audiovisual Law. It is structured in the following fashion:

Legal Area: Legal aspects of Telecommunications Internet and the Audiovisual sector. Directed by D. Javier Cremades (Lawyer and Partner of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo) and D. Javier Escolano ( Public Notary) constituting the part of the program that exaughstively analyzes the legal, technological, and economic aspects of Telecommunications, Internet, and the Audiovisual sectors, with special study of the regulation of competition, converging sectors and protection of the users.

Area of Business: eation, management and direction of businesses. Directed by D. Miguel Ágel Eced (Advisor of Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo) . This is the area that covers the study and practice of creation, management, and direction of businesses, analyzing the aspects of the market, structured of the competition, position, civil planning , strategy, finances, accounting, marketing, renting, and human resources.

Area of Technology: Technical aspects of Telecommunications, Internet and the audiovisual sector. Directed by D. Fernando Pardo (Doctor of Telecommunications Engineering, Partner with Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo), this section analyzes the technical aspects of Telecommunications, Internet and the audiovisual sector: nets, interconnection, security, electronic signature, etc.

Area of Practice: Business application in the sector of TIC´s. It treats the business applications in the sector of TIC´s. Practice in businesses and offices.


Who should get the Master TIA?:

This Master’s is directed to engineers, business people and lawyers who wish to deepen their understanding of sector.

Objectives::

The principal idea of the Master is to facilitate in its students the knowledge, not only of the regular framework of telecommunications, Internet and the audiovisual sector, but also of the technical aspects of TIC´s, as well as a broad vision of the business aspects and an exhaustive practical application of the content of the program in the market. A singular distinct and attractive part of this program is the participation of the directors in leading companies.

Associated Businesses: :

The program also counts among its collaborators leading companies in their respective areas and that, besides to provide scholarships, distribute teaching explaining its sector or welcoming in one or several alumnus of the Program in practices: Neo-Sky, Iberdrola, Fundación AUNA, Lucent Technologies, Red Eléctrica Telecomunicaciones.

Workplace training:

The program offers excellent job placement, permitting all of the students to combine the completion of the program with work place experience in diverse companies, including the law firm Cremades & Calvo-Sotelo and the associated companies.

Professional Guidance:

The students that complete the course in the Master well will be able to analyze and solve problems related to the Business and Law of Telecommunications, the Internet and the Audiovisual Sector as in business like in the offices, consulting firms, and Public Administrations.
