Aggrieved by Banco Madrid will confront the current block situation of the Bank in defence of their best interests. At the press conference held this morning, attended by employees of the entity, as well as depositors and investors, they had communicated its decision to entrust our firm to defend of their interests.

According to our team of Jurists the banking regulator’s possible overacting and precipitation was generated for Bank Madrid Customers a situation of helplessness, thereby blocking their positions.

The silence of the Bank of Spain and of the Commission on Prevention of Money Laundering and Monetary Offences (Sepblac) not only generates a loss to depositors and investors it also violates the rights of employees of the Bank. To date, neither the regulator nor the intervening workers have reported on the status of the entity, its possible future viability or simply on charging through payroll accounts that have opened in the Bank.

The Commercial Court No. 1 of Madrid has declared the state of insolvency. This situation cause the forthcoming settlement of the Bank, which would generate serious damage to their interests, especially in regard to job loss of around 300 people who integrate the staff of the Bank. The aforementioned settlement is not justified, at the beginning, neither by the systemic risk of the Bank of Madrid -totally nonexistent- nor by the real impact of their operations in the Spanish financial sector. Therefore, our firm is considering appeal the judge’s settlement declaration, the deadline is 20 days from the day following its statement.

On the other hand, our jurists studied appeal against the decision of the Bank of Spain dated on March 10 through which it agrees the intervention of Banco de Madrid. This appeal is prior administrative proceedings for the future administrative litigation proceedings against the Administration, based on the patrimonial liability of the State.
