Javier Cremades is an attorney and founding president of Cremades & Calvo Sotelo Law firm (www.cremadescalvosotelo.com), currently present in eleven cities in five different countries.

Javier Cremades’s concern for knowledge and leadership on the new trends have taken him to write several books of high disclosure. If in “El paraiso digital” – Plaza & Janés (2001) he advanced the key for the development of new technologies in a business and social environment, in his essay “Micropoder. La fuerza del ciudadano en la era digital” (Spain, 2007)” he disembowels the changes that are being produced by the digital revolution in politics, the economy and in society. As a result of this reflection on the rise of the Network Society, Javier Cremades holds the General Secretariat of the Spanish Association of Minority Shareholders of Listed Corporations (AEMEC), promoting good corporate governance, activism and the creation of Spanish shareholder networks and the collaboration with listed corporations in which they have invested in.
Javier Cremades is an expert in the modernization of institutions. On behalf of the European Comission, he has provided counsel to various new Union member governments such as Poland, Lithuania and Latvia in upgrading their legal systems. He has collaborated with Minister Jordi Sevilla in the configuration of the Advisory Council for the Electronic Management of the Ministry of Public Administration. At the Madrid Forum Network for the Information Society he has directed the drafting of the White Paper for the Information Society as an initiative of the city of Madrid.
As chairman of the Notary Observatory for the Information Society, he has contributed to upgrading public faith in the field of new technologies.
The challenges that the globalization of current advocacy establish, have taken Javier Cremades to establish relations with the principal emerging countries. He has been Secretary General of the Cámara de Comercio Brasil-España (2003-2008) as well as Secretary General of the Chinese Corporations in Spain Association, country of which he is an expert and on which he has published the essay “China y sus libertades” (Spain, 2008). He maintains very strong relations with the Latin-American legal community. He is the Chairman of the Foro Iberoamericano de la Propiedad Intelectual, he is a member of the editorial council of the “Revista de la Administración Pública (Argentina) as well as an honorary member of the Bar Association in Caracas (Venezuela).
Organizaciones y Fundaciones
Javier Cremades has promoted the Fundación Madrid Vivo, of which he is the Secretary General and on which the most important Spanish corporations participate, so as to coordinate the collaboration of the Spanish civil society with the social action of the Madrid Archdiocese and especially with the celebration of the Jornada Mundial de la Juventud 2011.
Javier Cremades has maintained a commitment to the development of civil society as he is part of various international associations. Since 1998 he is an Eisenhower Fellow. He has also been in Spain the Chapter Chairman for the Chapter Chairman for the YPO-WPO (Young Presidents’ Organization de la World Presidents' Organization) a non-profit organization of young CEOs for the development of a leadership through education and exchange of experiences.
The concern with the social dimension of the legal profession has taken Javier Cremades to promote, along with the Madrid Community and the Fundación Wolters Kluwer, el Programa “Conoce tus leyes” to teach law to immigrants of the Madrid Community and that has been seconded by 31 Law Firms that provide their excellent professionals in an altruistic fashion.

Author of dozens of scientific articles and multiple specialized essays. He manages the book collection “Derecho de las Telecomunicaciones” from “La Ley” publishing house, and is a member of the editorial council of the “Revista Española de Derecho de las Telecomunicaciones” y de la “Revista de la Contratación Electrónica” among many other academic publications. He has recently been appointed Corresponding Member of the Law Section of Academy of Doctors in Spain.
